Work With Us
Your first hour is complimentary. We want to get to know you, your current plan and your hopes for the future.
PFD Services range from assisting clients in managing their own financial portfolios to providing full portfolio management. To begin assisting clients within this continuum, PFD starts with a financial plan analysis, a retirement plan analysis, and a review of trust or other similar documents to create a Comprehensive Financial Plan, an eight-point analysis used as a directive for understanding the priorities and needs of a client’s financial future, as well as to determine the recommended direction for the client’s financial investments. PFD also provides ongoing asset management services, such as life insurance and annuities, and traditional or fee-based portfolio management.
Here’s How:
I. Consulting-Based Management – In addition to managing your investment portfolio, Prout Financial provides various consultative services. These services are fee-based and billed at an hourly rate.
a. Consulting-Based Services
i. Comprehensive Financial Plan – Financial Planning is the process of organizing, evaluating and utilizing your financial resources to define and achieve your life goals. Our plans are created in-house personally by Dennis and consist of eight specific parts:
- Cash Flow Analysis
- Goal-Setting
- Personal Net-Worth Analysis
- Income Tax Analysis and Reduction
- Education Planning
- Retirement Projections
- Insurance Needs Analysis
- Estate Planning
ii. Brentmark Retirement Plan Analyzer
- The Brentmark Retirement Plan Analyzer explores various strategies and analyses for Roth IRA conversions
iii. Reviewing Financial Documents or Trusts/Estate Plans
- Prout Financial Design also reviews wills and trust, as well as other financial and legal documents, to make sure they are aligned with the client’s true wishes. We are not attorneys, however, and do not provide legal advice
- We work closely with CPAs and attorneys for tax and legal assistance, providing a “one-stop-shopping experience” for your financial, retirement, insurance, investment and estate planning needs
- For those clients who do not have an attorney or CPA, we would be glad to recommend someone in our area with whom we have a professional relationship
II. Ongoing Asset Management As a Client
a. Our Asset Management Service covers the day-to-day oversight of a client’s investments. We invest in well-known mutual funds. While we are not “stock pickers,” we’ll manage and provide expert advice on any existing stock portfolio. Services include:
i. Personal Profile – Includes individual investment needs and objectives, time horizon, preferences and attitude toward investing
ii. Asset Allocation Plan – Maximizes investment returns relative to your desired degree of safety through careful and custom diversification
iii. Ongoing Assessment – Each investment portfolio is carefully monitored on a continual basis to ensure it remains consistent with clients’ often-changing needs and goals
iv. Automatic Rebalancing – We “manage the managers” to make sure they stay within the portfolio objectives, rebalancing the portfolio as necessary, and at least annually, with quarterly reports
III. Fee-Based Portfolio Management As a Client
Portfolios are managed based on a flat percentage, with unlimited trades, rather than on a commission per trade basis. TD Ameritrade is the firm Prout Financial Design uses for fee-based portfolio management.
a. TD Ameritrade
i. One of the largest brokerage firms in North America, TD Ameritrade is known for providing a wide range of products and services tailored to independent financial advisors and their clients. With an incredible reputation for excellence, TD Ameritrade has reasonable fees, a wide selection of mutual funds and a track record for outperforming market standards.
ii. There are two options to choose with fee-based portfolio management through TD Ameritrade: WealthMark and WealthBuilder portfolios.
WealthMark minimums:
- $50K for Qualified Accounts
- $100K for Non-Qualified Accounts
WealthBuilder minimums:
- $25K for Qualified Plans
- $50K for Non-Qualified Plans
iii. Fees are charged on a quarterly basis and are assessed on a percentage of a client’s portfolio. The fee covers all services and fees minus SEC fees or expenses of mutual funds that may be included in the client’s portfolio.
Please refer to the most recent Prout Financial Design Fee Agreement documents for the current fees for each service provided.
