A Case for Coaching
Every New Year, the Prout Financial Design team ventures off of the property for a “day away” retreat with Leadership Strategist Jonathan Pool.
We gather together around the proverbial round table to discuss the past year and the year to come to gain perspective, refine our mission and hone in on each employee’s talents.
By doing this, we are essentially “sharpening the saw” as Executive Coach Barbara Ellis would say. She also says that “The Emotional Intelligence of a leader can affect the bottom line success of a business.” Ellis has nearly 30 years’ experience in executive coaching and management consulting, and owns the Center for Coaching and Leadership Development. She is also founder of the Leadership Lunch Club here in Traverse City.
Throughout the year I will introduce you to credible, creative and resourceful coaches in our area. Today, Barbara Ellis joins me as we discuss executive coaching, and what it means for both leaders and organizations.
“Be careful, then, how you live – not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity.” -Proverbs 5:15, 16
